ANOTHER ANALYSIS OF A MUSIC VIDEO

Image
Fake tales of San francisco by the Arctic Monkeys At the beginning of the song the main noticeable thing is the band playing music instruments such as the drums and the guitar. This symbolises that the band are organic and have a passion for pure and simple music. The next thing which is very noticeable about the music video is the type of filter used on the camera. It demonstrates that the video is homemade and its questionable that it is filmed on a mobile phone. This shows that the band care more about their music and pleasing the audience sound wise then visual. The music video is basic and is easy to understand. It is a visibly clear in that the music videos shows the life that the band live while touring and performing to audiences and that the band members are also close as the shots usually show them together enjoying themselves. ANALYSIS OF ANOTHER MUSIC VIDEO

Shots of the band demonstrates they are a group, a gang and it demonstrates that they have a star image of rebellion and drug taking. There are also loads of quick cuts between the different instruments as the song stars further enhances their organic status. The focus of a television screen within the frame to show the singers close up of him singing this highlights Andrew Goodwin convention the notions of a screen within a screen. This helps sell the singers image as being the sex symbol of the band and demonstrates in which his image is different to the rest of the band as he is sold o his looks. The use of dark colours along side the green screen images and fast zooms and birds eye view shot also adds a frenetic element to the song and enhance the performance element. The reasoning behind this is to represent the band as being more organic and a live attraction to appeal to their target audience of indie rock fans.

MOOD BOARD

Image
In our mood board we tried to visually express the mood and theme of our music video. The most important part of a mood board is the colours and that is why we decided to keep the colours mainly black and white apart from one obvious one in the middle where a band is performing. This is because throughout are music video there will be minimal lighting apart from when there are shots back at the studio of the band performing as it shows there passion for music and wanting to become famous reiterated. The setting in the mood board shows that open space and the country side will be a key part of the music video due to it reinforcing the idea that the band have huge dreams and have no limits to there success. This links in with the narrative as its all about the band becoming famous and starting at the bottom as ordinary people. This is shown in the mood board as a few of the images show men being on there own alone. The image of the band is shown in the mood board because you can se
