VIDEO MUSIC TIPS

The essential idea of what we are doing is manufacturing a band for a song, and this will be that bands first release, and it is our job to make the video successful

we will start with the image of the band, ensuring that their style is fit for the style of the song and that they know how to play the instruments required so they can realistically mime the track. Then it is possible to create a concept for the video that will blend well with the music

the band we are creating obviously has no fan base so it is up to us to get them out their  via various marketing techniques and digipacks

the best type of music video contains three different narrative strants, a performance element which the label think is vital as it acts as a fail save. A lip sync element, just simply singing in a situation with very few props. lastly a narrative element the story, which will be led by genre and style. the music video will then consist of constant cutting between these narrative strands which keeps the video exciting and interesting

This is why we have gone for the black and white style to give them that authentic image. We have gone for this type of theme throughout all our products including the music video and the digipak. We wanted the star image to come across on the website showing they are a simple band who just want to produce good music for their fans. As well as not having abstract colours to draw in fans as we focused on the music side of our band to increase our fanbase.  Our front page is different to many other bands website similar to ours. We wanted a big bold photo of our band to draw the attention of the audience to the band so they become more recognisable and well known. SHOOT DAY

On the first Morning of shooting, were we very lucky to have nice bright blue sky weather, however due to the strong sunlight the filming was effecting due to the number of shadows created by people and camera equipment but on a whole I think we managed it well. Furthermore, the ability to use a drone to film some birds eye shots was another bonus as it added another dimension towards our movie and the viewers perspective. Unexpectedly when filming  we did however come across a problem which was the ride of the vehicle uses in the filming. Due to hard suspension some film was jigging about and quite bumpy which did effect our progress but does mean we have to work extra harder to make the film look professional and get the best features in to add to the 'horror' themed effect.
